Dear Badgie friends,

I have had a really impressive feedback from you as a result of my “survey” on RAA membership and it is clear that many belong to either the RAA or RHAA.

It is also clear that most are, for one reason or another, not able to keep in touch with their local Branch.

Hopefully we, your committee, can and will help by relaying information from HQRAA as and when we receive it.

We have recently received details of the Royal Artillery Association Diary of events :

26 June – National armed Forces Day

3 July – RAA Service of Remembrance at the National Memorial Arboretum, Alrewas

11 August – RAA Grand Draw

11 November – Field of Remembrance at St Margaret’s Westminster Abbey

14 November – RA Ceremony of Remembrance at Hyde Park Corner

5 December – St Barbara’s Day Service at Larkhill

Some of our members have enquired about an (ExBoys) Association group visit to the NMA on 3rd July.

This annual event is gaining more and more significance each year and last year saw over 400 members and 40 Standards attend. Once again the service will be supported by the band of 103 (Lancashire Artillery Volunteers) Regiment which is just teriffic!

Timings for the service are:

Seated for service in the marquee:         1145hrs

Service begins                                      12.00hrs

Wreath laying                                        12.45hrs

Please note that refreshments on arrival and lunch are taken under your own arrangements.

The NMA has reintroduced parking charges at a price of £2.00 per day.  This charge does not apply to coaches and those displaying blue “disabled” badges.

Dress is suits or blazer with Gunner tie.

We would be interested to know how many of our members would like to attend this service, so please let me know. We will also be discussing these events at our reunion in April
